As the Lead Graphic & Interactive Designer at Alloy5, the City of Allentown reached out to me to design collateral for a special event honoring Saquon Barkley with a key to the city. Thanks to our existing relationship—and the popularity of the collectible stickers I’ve designed for past city events—they knew exactly who to call.
With less than a week to bring the concept to life, we hit the ground running. We considered several formats, from posters to postcards, but ultimately landed on something that felt more meaningful and collectible: a custom trading card.
Every sports fan or collector understands the value of a trading card, especially one that’s limited-edition and one-of-a-kind. Saquon’s team provided an approved photograph from SF Digitals, and I built the design around it while carefully avoiding any use of copyrighted NFL or Eagles branding. The final piece served as a fitting keepsake to commemorate a hometown hero’s milestone moment.
